New Ideas

I recently needed to make a few gifts for family and friends and in a creative frenzy, I invented le lapin bleu! Bleu, as he's known by for short, is a little one-dimensional but very cute. So far I have him "in love" and "flying a kite"

These photos are gifts for others but I hope to have similar items in my Etsy shop soon. NOTE: I hand dyed the shirts and hand dyed the fabrics used in the applique, all but the kite which is a Japanese fabric that I received from my good-ness order (see Sept 20 blog entry below for good-ness shop link).

And yet more detail. I had to brush up on my embroidery skills for this one

Did I mention it was close to midnight when I finally made myself stop last night? Thus the "romantic" lighting. Here is le lapin bleu flying a kite.

WHERE'S LITTLE BITSY?

OK, I have had no time to work on my creative side in the past two weeks and it's driving me crazy! BUT I have 4 days off now so I'll be doing some creating. I have some ideas in my head and supplies are ready to go. For example...

Today I dyed some GORGEOUS hemp/rayon fabric in fun fall colors to use as applique on some of my dyed items. (55% Hemp 45% Rayon)

Washing out the excess dye:

I did three dye lots: a forest green, mustard yellow and raspberry, YUMMY:

A close up to try and show you how beautiful this fabric is:

And here is one of the dresses that are ready to be adorned with some fun, funky, hempy design:

I dyed these twice to get the effect, colors: chocolate and raspberry. MMMMM I'm hungry!
