Boho Tunic Top Makes it Big and More Canine Couture

I sold a wholesale order yesterday for a trunk show in Florida, very exciting! I will be doing the Boho Tunic Top for the tween set in various colors, should be fun!

(See August 14 for Boho photo)

And in Canine Couture, we have the introduction of "Postcards from Japan", a more formal frock for Fifi or Fido. I love the way this one looks. The fabric is scrumptious, I have more of it and have though of incorporating it on some adult shirts as applique, hmmmm. Anyway, here is a photo of that dress.

It's Labor Day Weekend, YAY, 3 days off! Of course I won't be off as I'll be squirreled away at the sewing machine, drawing table, creative area aka THE BASEMENT, most of the time. I do promise to get in a little sunshine time. The 2 dogs remind me (read: beg, paw at and whine) to walk them daily and the hubby needs food every now and then.

Doggie Couture, Dress 2

Here is another dog dress I whipped up tonight. Pink and black with white tulle and black pom poms and black and white polka dot grosgrain ribbon. The dress is funky dyed in hot pink and then the peace patch, which was hand printed on another fabric patch, was sewn on.

And a matching bow. Here it is!

Now my hairdresser will have to choose between the two!

OH MY Doggie Dresses!

I have two keeshonds. Keeshonds are born with a full coat suitable for Siberian summers so I have never thought about dog clothes until.....

Recently I went to a new hairdresser and was discussing my Little Bitsys clothing when he asked me:

"OH, could you make something for my little girl?"

"Certainly!" (short pause, waiting for a little more information, didn't think he had kids)

"Yes, my little Nina" (pronounced ninna) he replied. "I once had a dress for her, it fit her little figure so well."

hehehe, Nina the Maltese

I'm up for the challenge! I thought.

So here it is the Nina Dress. No model yet. This is so tiny that it might fit on one of my dogs paws!

Sunday Creativity

OK, it took me 3 days to finally get something done! And here it is. I used my dyed hemp/rayon for the stems and centers and yellow wool felt for the dot flower, cool. I love this look. I also fused the appliques on so I don't have to sew them but I like the look of stitching so I think I will. I might also add some green leaves and I will trim the hemline with yellow pom poms, adorable!

This is the bodice:

I also have a flower on the back of the dress at the hemline.
